1st birthday!!

We had a really nice day on Sat. Saga turned one and we were lucky enough to celebrate it with our friends and family. The morning started with Saga opening a present from Stephanie and Terrace. Saga really loves balls and books and that's exactly what she got (a cute pair of shoes too). Then it was time for the cupcake party. It was actually my idea to have the ice cream cone cupcakes because I remembered them from my childhood and knew that mom could make them. Saga loves m&m's so those were put on top for decoration. My three best friends were here to celebrate with us and that was very special. I slipped in a cute picture of Michelle and Joey.
At 5:00 we headed over to great grandma's to eat dinner, open presents, and eat cake. Playing with balloons was also on the list of fun activities. Grace and Saga were entertained for a long time by the balloons. Dinner was great (chicken and ribs)and the presents were very thoughtful. Saga will be the best dressed girl in Sweden. I also asked for some Cd's with children's music, so we'll be singing up a storm in the car. The evening ended with a Swedish birthday cake that I made and then home to bed. Saga only had one nap due to all of the excitement. One would think that putting her to bed would have been easy, but the first time one tastes ice cream and chocolate must be a reason to stay up and continue partying.
