Bellingham Again!

We headed up to Bellingham on Sunday afternoon. My friends Laurie and Jed are soon leaving for a big European Adventure, and I really wanted to see them so we drove up for a few days. As you can see much time was spent outdoors chasing cats and feeding goats. We also went on our fair share of slide and swing rides. Cindy, an old teaching friend, watches her grandson two days a week so we spent some time Wed. morning with them before driving home. Kale is 6 days older then Saga but MUCH bigger. He was very sweet and they seemed to get along wonderfully.

Catch Up!!

We took a trip to Northwest Trek, a wildlife park close to Eatonville. We saw tons of animals, Saga's favorite being the river otters, they are my favorite too. It was slug fest 2008 so we took some silly pictures and made eatable banana slugs.

Eating popcorn with Grandma.

If I had to sum up our trip so far I would need only one word, outside. Saga wants to be outside ALL THE TIME. So our days are filling with walking to the parks and watering Grandma's flowers.

Father's Day was spend missing Axel of course but also celebrating all of the great fathers in our family. We had a BBQ at my parent's house and fun was had by all. Saga loves being with her cousins and LOVES kissing on her youngest cousin Jackson. She wasn't really sure about him at first but is now hooked. She actually wants me to hold him so she can sit on my lap and hold him too.

Helping Grandma cook!

Haley, my niece, had a birthday where she turned 10! Saga was there to help open the presents and try on her new shoes (Haley's)

Next stops: Bellingham, Eatonville

The weather has been really beautiful the last few days.

Home at my parent's house.

Looking for baby crabs!

The flight couldn't have gone better, Saga is such a trooper. We had great seats and everyone was very nice to us. Saga slept for 1 1/2, we were a bit disappointed that she slept so little but what can we say, she doesn't need much sleep. Stephanie was in Vancouver to pick us up and take us across the border into Washington. We were so happy to arrive in Bellingham, and Saga was excited to play with Terrace's toys. While in Bellingham we took a tour of the town because Axel hasn't been there in three years and A LOT has changed. Our lunch of choice was at a place called Casa Que Pasa, Mexican Food, YUMMY!!! The weather wasn't great but that didn't stop us from going down to the beach to look for baby crabs, something Terrace and Stephanie do almost everyday. Saga was more into the rocks and the water, of course.

Our next stop in Bellingham was at the Faloon Family. We arrived in time for a wonderful Irish stew dinner. Axel had a great time talking about old times with Brian and Shirley, his old employer and friend. We stayed the night with them in their lovely home, and Saga enjoyed brushing her teeth once again.

On Sat. we hitched a ride with Steph and Brad down South, and my parents drove up to Seattle to pick us up. We have been in Eatonville for a week now. Yesterday I drove Axel to the airport because he is off on his Alaskan fishing adventure. He just called and he is in Anchorage waiting for the small plane to take him to his place of residence for the next six weeks. We miss him already!!

Visiting with Axel's family

Saga looking for our plane.

Our trip started with a flight down to Stockholm and a bus ride to Axel's uncle's house. We thought it would be easier to break the trip up into two days instead of just one day of LONG traveling. We were wrong!! It ended up being two days of long traveling. Once we got on the plane and then caught the bus we were tired. When we got to the bus station we headed over to a park to wait for Axel's uncle to pick us up. Once we got to his house it was relaxing and fun, but we were still tired. We ate a good dinner and played in their beautiful yard then it was off to bed. WE had to get up and leave by 8:30 in order to be at the airport by 10:00.
