Saturday, Plane Ride and Visit to Relatives

Well, we headed out early and the picture of Saga on the couch sleeping was a testiment to how awake she was for the trip. She was pretty happy the whole time but we did catch a picture of her crying but that subsided fast. She was a great baby and is now an experienced traveler. When we got to Stockholm Arvid and Helena picked us up and we went to vist Axel'a uncle and his family. We went for a nice walk and Axel took some beautiful pictures of the first flowers of Spring in their yard. It was so fun for them to get to meet Saga and Axel's little cousin, his name is also Axel, is shown here holding her. He kept calling her a boy, it was pretty cute.

Sunday, Tour Day

I just love these pictures of Saga on Uncle Arvid and Aunt Helena's BIG couch. Just so you know, you can click on the pictures and they get bigger.

We started our Sunday with a nice breakfast. Helena and Arvid were such gracious hosts. There is a picture of Axel drinking his morning coffee. We then headed out on a little tour of the town, Nortälje. Arvid works just a few minutes from their apartment so we went there first. Then we just walked around and took pictures in front of the running water. The water up North is still frozen over so we were pretty excited to see the water flowing. Arvid and Helena had a suprise dinner planned. We ate wild boar for dinner, because Arvid has been out hunting them lately. It tasted GREAT!

Monday, beautiful weather and good food

On Monday the sun was shining so we all piled into the car and took a drive. We ended up at the edge of a body of water, part of the Baltic Sea I think. Saga slept in her stroller the whole time while we basked in the sun. It felt so great. Then we headed to a wonderful restaurant called One Glass. The food was amazing and Saga was tired from all her sleeping in the sun.

Tuesday, Embassy Day

On Tuesday we woke up early and Arvid made us another great breakfast. We then headed to Stockholm and encountered our first "real" traffic since leaving the States. Things went well and Saga should be getting her passport in about a month. We had such a nice trip but we were happy to get home on Tuesday night.

We're off!

On Sat. morning we are heading to Stockholm for two reasons. First, Saga needs an American passport so we can travel in May. To get one we need to be present at the American Embassy. Second, Arvid, Axel's brother, lives down there and we haven't been to visit. We are really excited and hope Saga enjoys the plane,i.e. doesn't cry and just sleeps. Let's see what else has been happening this week. Saga really likes to stand up and will lock her legs. She looks so cute and concentrates so hard. I'm not sure if it's good for her legs so we don't do it that often. Axel has been working hard on cutting wood for next winter. He hopes to have it all done by Sat. when we leave. On Tuesday we went to the Dr. and Saga weights 11 pounds and is 22.5 inches long. She's a happy and healthy baby and smiles at everyone that smiles at her.

More bathtime pictures. I know that all parents have to try the mohawk at least once in the bath. Of course we just love to take pictures of her little feet. Any way to help me remember how little she is because she's growing so fast.

Saga looks the most like her dad when they are sleeping together. They both like to throw back their heads and can sleep for hours.

The baby in the American swing is Axel's cousins baby. He is 6 months old and as your can see he really enjoyed it. He is just one of many that came by to try it out, haha.

Sunshine!!

The weather has been beautiful this week and we have been taking advantage by being out as much as possible. Saga still has to be bundled up nice and warm though. I want to send out my love to Michelle because she called me tonight to announce that Bill asked her to marry him and she said YES!!! We bought a new car and sold Axel's green thing that he used to drive. YEAH!!! Hope everyone has a great weekend. We plan to be outside because they are calling for nice weather.

Time with Dad

It's been a busy week here at the Nordmark house. On Monday Saga went to the Dr. and she now weighs 10 pounds 6 oz. and is almost 23 inches long. Then on Tuesday we went to a play group in the village. Of course Saga doesn't actually play but it's a nice time for all of the moms to meet and talk. There are a lot of moms home with their babies in Sundom. Then on Wednesday we went and visited Axel's grandma, so Saga's great grandma and had lunch. As I look out the window now it seems to be raining so I don't think we'll be going for a walk when Saga wakes up from sleeping in her swing. Enjoy the pictures and hope to see you all soon.

video of Saga smiling

This is my attempt at getting Saga's smile on video. Please ignore me in the background talking like an idiot. If you have patience you will see the smile at the end. Hope it makes you smile in return...
