Trip to the East Side

We headed over the mountains to visit with Jim and his family on Thursday. On Friday we drove over to Riverside, WA to visit with my Dad's family; Heather, Halla, and Sage. On Saturday Daniel, Jim, and Grace drove over to spend some time there as well. We visited his grave and had a really nice time together. I wish we could have all gotten together like that when he was alive.

Saga and Grace

Daniel and Saga in one of Dad's old trucks. I love the color!

This is a funny sequence of pictures. We went to visit Dad's grave and were trying to get a group shot. Grace was being her lively self and didn't want to be in the picture. If you look at the next two pictures you can see the struggle and her hiding behind Jim.

The cowgirls! The three girls had a lot of fun together. Saga and Grace are the same age (4) and Saga is 2. Saga mostly like to watch them race around on their stick horses.

Halla and Sage (sisters)

Saga's first horse ride. She actually loved it and talks about "her horse" Duffy.

Saga and Sage playing in the snow. The weather was beautiful.

Saga and I eating our yummy sandwiches that grandma made for our picnic. We stopped and watched the elk get feed. There were some pretty big animals there.

Saga and Her Grandparents

Grandpa Ralph, Uncle Lance, Saga, and Kate

Saga and her second cousins (Lance's girls)
Last weekend we went to visit my Grandpa Ralph, my dad's father. It had been years, and he had never met Saga. Walking into their house was like stepping back in time, exactly like I remembered it as a child. My Uncle Lance and his family were there as well, first time meeting them ever. We had lunch and talked a bit about my dad and the past. It was a pleasant afternoon re-connecting with lost family.

Carla and Baby Avery

Carla and sweet baby Avery came for a visit as well. Saga was very comfortable with Avery and didn't seem too jealous when I held her.

Lucky Us!

A pregnant Stephanie made it down for a visit. They stayed two nights and things went really well until the last day. By then the girls were tired and ready for some alone time. We plan on seeing them again soon. Thanks for making the trip. LOVE YOU!!

Birthdays and Visiting

We went and visited an old friend of mine on Sat. Marisa and I grew up together, and I spent a lot of time with her family when I was younger. It was wonderful to re-connect with them and to catch up. Marisa had a shawl-type sweater on, and I couldn't resist snuggling up in it.
Yesterday was Saga's American birthday celebration. She was pretty excited about opening more presents.

Like I said before, the trip went very well. Saga is a seasoned traveler and was so easy to travel with. We are now in Eatonville relaxing and trying to get over the jet lag.

We're Here

I just wanted to post that we made it to Eatonville safely. The trip couldn't have gone better. Everything was so easy with Saga. I guess the portable DVD player helped until it ran out of batteries. It's a bit rainy today, but we've managed to get out and run around in the grass. I'm not missing the snow yet!
