Week in Review

Things are looking up when it comes to sleeping. Saga and I have slept through the night the last two nights, YEAH! Our week has been very full. We've tried to get outside as much as possible. Axel bought Saga a sled which she loves to ride around in outside and inside. On Sunday Axel's parents had a birthday party for Saga. The balloons were the most exciting thing for Saga, well I think the cheesecake was a favorite as well. My mom bought Saga a little bike when we were in the US. We got it in the mail this week along with a rocking chair that my grandma sent to Saga. It is 70 years old and we are more then happy to take good care of it. Saga loves sitting in it and saying "rock rock rock". Sorry about the sideways pictures:)

Fun in the Snow- with a bit of jet lag

We made it back to Sweden after a very long and tiring trip. Saga has been wanting to go outside and walk in the snow in her new shoes. She actually goes to the door and picks up her shoes to say she wants to go out. She also likes to wake up in the middle of the night and play for three hours. We are both really jet lagged and it seems like I always forget how horrible it is to have to re-adjust. For example, last night she went to bed at 9:15, was awake at 12:30 am and didn't go back to sleep until 4:00 am. This leads to us waking up late because we are both so tired, vicious cycle. Hope it gets better soon!

What a Beautiful Day!!

Sunday was an absolutely beautiful day. It was warm and sunny. Saga got to experience her first real outside walking. She was very stable and loved playing with the rocks and helping grandma pull weeds. We were outside for about a hour and when it was time to come in she wasn't at all happy about it. I'm excited for her to start exploring the outdoor world.
My friend Michelle was here to visit us for a few days. It was great to spend time with her and talk about plans for her wedding! The pictures aren't downloading right so I will try again later.

1st birthday!!

We had a really nice day on Sat. Saga turned one and we were lucky enough to celebrate it with our friends and family. The morning started with Saga opening a present from Stephanie and Terrace. Saga really loves balls and books and that's exactly what she got (a cute pair of shoes too). Then it was time for the cupcake party. It was actually my idea to have the ice cream cone cupcakes because I remembered them from my childhood and knew that mom could make them. Saga loves m&m's so those were put on top for decoration. My three best friends were here to celebrate with us and that was very special. I slipped in a cute picture of Michelle and Joey.
At 5:00 we headed over to great grandma's to eat dinner, open presents, and eat cake. Playing with balloons was also on the list of fun activities. Grace and Saga were entertained for a long time by the balloons. Dinner was great (chicken and ribs)and the presents were very thoughtful. Saga will be the best dressed girl in Sweden. I also asked for some Cd's with children's music, so we'll be singing up a storm in the car. The evening ended with a Swedish birthday cake that I made and then home to bed. Saga only had one nap due to all of the excitement. One would think that putting her to bed would have been easy, but the first time one tastes ice cream and chocolate must be a reason to stay up and continue partying.

Out to Mexican Food!

I really miss Mexican food when I am in Sweden. So when Stephanie and Terrace came down to celebrate Saga's birthday we headed out to the Mexican restaurant in Eatonville. The girls did a great job and kept themselves busy coloring.

Trip to Bellingham

On New Year's Day Saga and I drove up to Bellingham. The first night we stayed at my friend Laurie's house. On Wed. Laurie organized a little party of old work friends. It was a party full of little kids and so much fun. Before we went to the party Saga and I went to visit a good friend of mine. Saga enjoyed playing on the green dragon with Chalae. Then on Thurs. we went to Stephanie's house. She was having a play group in which we got to participate. On Friday we visited more friends and then headed back to Laurie's to stay the night. I love being in Bellingham, and I always make sure to eat at all of my favorite restaurants while I'm there.

Now we are back in Eatonville and my mom has the week off. Our plans are to just be together and organize Saga's birthday party.
