End of October Catch Up

The race is always on.  The kids get so much use out of these two small hand me down cars.

We ended up having a little impromptu Halloween Party and Saga was an Indian, no surprise there since she is a self proclaimed Indian at heart.  The face painting was done by her, of course.

Our group picture.  Sixten started out as a pirate which turned into a cowboy and then just a cute little Sixten.  I always download my pictures from my camera at the end of every month.  So a November update with come in a few weeks.  The weather has been warm, in fact it's raining hard as I write.  Axel starts work again in two weeks so we are just enjoying our time together at home.

Museum

On Friday we took off for town heading to the museum.  It's a great place for the kids to explore and play.  Luke got to dress up like a Sami boy and a little "Emil" (a very popular Astrid Lindgren character).  Fanny and Alina joined us for a while as well.  Love having Michelle and Luke here to share in our daily adventures :)

Luke and Michelle

Fishing season is in full swing here in Sundom Sweden.  Michelle and Luke have arrived safely and are now on our schedule.  Sixten and Luke are getting to know each other through hair pulling and toy grabbing-  Michelle is doing a great job of taking care of the kids and helping out with the work.

Luke and Sixten during a peaceful moment.  There has been a bit of 2 year old jealousy on Sixten's part but things seem to be looking up.

Been spending a few weekends out in the woods with farmor and the girls enjoying some fika and berry picking.
The kids helping out with the shaking of the nets.

What a treat!  A real tractor on our lawn.  Sixten even got to ride inside.

Luke and Sixten playing with the net buoys
Our lovely house guests who are being such a great help.

Axel's 34th

We celebrate Axel's 34th birthday last week.  The beautiful ash berries made a wonderful center piece.  Fish soup and bread were served with cake for dessert.  Saga has started to go to pre-school/daycare for 15 hours a week.  It's just to slowly transition her into the whole"school system" way of things.  She seems to be enjoying it, and I have to admit, it's nice to have a little time for just Sixten.  We are starting the countdown to Michelle and Luke's arrival.  They will be staying with us for 5 weeks helping out with the caviar fishing.  SO EXCITED!  Moose hunting starts this week too.  I'm heading outside to enjoy the break in the rainy weather.  I see sun and need to soak some of it up.

The New TV Room

These past few weeks we've been busy transforming our storage shed into a cozy tv/movie room.  All it needs now is a little wood stove to warm it up and we'll be good to go all year long.

I saw this sofa, which pulls out to make room for a mattress, in Axel's Grandma's neighbor's storage unit.  Thought it was great and the lady was trying to get rid of it.  New material on the pad and a good wash led to a really cute couch.

Axel spend Sunday building this DVD stand out of birch trees. Love it!

I painting the corner cabinet white a few years ago and the table is from my in-laws attic.  The theme of the room is old paint peeling furniture.  Just what I wanted.
