Two Weeks of Craziness

The last two weeks have been filled with lots of fun but also with LOTS of sickness. It's been one thing after another and I am so tired of it all. It all started with Saga having a high temp.all day long then she had a little cold then a one day ear infection on Easter morning. This all lead up to her getting the flu and she still isn't completely healed. It's been 6 days and if she isn't totally better by tomorrow I'm going to call the Dr. On top of all this I was also sick with a BAD cold and then got the flu as well. Axel was on the couch all day yesterday with it as well.

Anyway, enough about our sicknesses! We have also had lots of exciting things happen in the last two weeks. Below is the summarization of the last two weeks, minus any sick pictures. Enjoy

Axel has 30 fish traps out on the ice and one beautiful sunny day we all went out to check them. Here is Alina looks cool in her shades.

All of the hunters and their dogs.

Aunt Helena and Uncle Arvid were here over Easter. We just love when they come and visit :)

Axel and one of his big pike he pulled out of a hole in the ice.

Saga collecting her Easter eggs in a picnic basket she got from her great-grandparents.

These pictures are of Easter Dinner. Even though Saga had woken up with a really big earache she managed to do pretty well that day. The food was great as usuall and the company even better.

Catch Up

Here is a fuzzy picture of our Easter Tree, or in Swedish, Påskris. It's actually pretty cool. You bring in some birch branches and put them in water then decorate them with feathers and eggs. After a week or so the leaves start to pop out and it lets off the most amazing smell. SPRING SPRING SPRING, at least inside the house. It's just so nice to see something so green and alive.

You might find it hard to believe but Saga took this picture. Just thought I would showcase her photography skills, hee hee.

I thought these two pictures of Farfar and Saga were so cute. A few weeks ago, I know I'm a bit behind on blogging, we celebrated waffle day here in Sweden. I know it sounds funny but it's a day when almost everyone eats waffles sometime during the day. We went over to Farmor and Farfar's house after dinner to eat some yummy waffles. They both have the same look on their face.

Lately Saga has been into "building fires" on the floor. Fire is such a big part of our life, we only heat our house with wood, so it's of course something she needs to do too.

Our Sunday Adventure

fishing from Kate Nordmark on Vimeo.

Sunday morning we woke up ready for a little trip on the snowmobile. The first thing Saga and I did was bake something sweet to take with us. Then we loaded up the snowmobile and headed off. Saga fell asleep in the sled we were pulling behind the snowmobile. We arrived at our destination after 45 minutes greeted by beautiful sunshine and friends. Saga slept for at least two hours after we got there. So we enjoyed some tea and cookies and sunshine. The boys headed off to try their luck at fishing before lunch. Saga finally woke and then it was lunch. The cabin was really warm and cozy. After lunch we all headed out onto the ice to fish. We must have picked a great spot because the fish were biting like crazy. Everyone had a great time and hopefully we can do it again sometime.

Saga's Own Bed

She's pretend sleeping here.

We borrowed a bed for Saga to sleep in this last week. She was so excited about it and couldn't stop talking about getting it. The first night she actually fell asleep in it, I was VERY shocked. She woke after 4 hours and I brought her to our bed. The next night she didn't want to fall asleep in it so I just moved her after she fell asleep. I've decided not to fight her about it and just let it happen. It seems to be going pretty well.

Terrace and Saga from Kate Nordmark on Vimeo.

I just thought I'd let you know that if you click on the word VIMEO in the right hand corner of the video box you can get to all of our videos. Just a tip for those of you who have children that like to watch the videos over and over again, you know who you are! :)

Some More Pictures..

I just wanted to add a few more pictures from my last few weeks at home. We went to a baby shower for my friend Stephanie (the lady with the big belly). It's always important to take a few family shots on the day you leave, hence the group pictures. We had such a nice time being my parent's house and visiting with the whole family. I'll have to start planning for the next trip. We are so excited for my parents to come and visit in June. I really can't wait. It will be so fun!!!!

Back in Sweden

Just a quick note to say we made it back to Sweden. Again, the flights went really well. Saga slept a lot, but I wasn't so lucky. Axel surprised us in Stockholm by meeting us at the airport. He spent the weekend with his brother and then flew home with us to Luleå. It was GREAT!! Saga and I have been sleeping all day, it's 3:30 pm and she still isn't awake. Looks like another LONG night, but I know things will get back to normal at some point. I'm trying to stay positive! More to come later. Miss everyone!!
